Airbrushing is hard. Not only does one need Kung-Fu like arm control, you need to master the machine itself. There are many things that go wrong during the process. Clogs, moisture, pressure, overheating compressors… As an artist with a strong aversion to most things mechanical, these obstacles often made me put the airbrush back in the closet for years at a time.
I have a long way to go before mastering the airbrush, but I find it incredibly rewarding as my control over it increases. I’ve been making shirts since I was 15, but only recently have I began airbrushing on raw stretched canvas. The canvas absorbs the paint just like a tee shirt, which is what I love about it.
